The top three pitchers, Jimmy Nelson, Carlos Carrasco and Danny Duffy, are almost interchangeable. They all face struggling and strikeout-prone offenses, and all three can strike out hitters with the best of them. Cole Hamels and Jacob Faria are coming off dominating fantasy performances, but they have a tough matchups against the Astros and Indians, respectively.

Outside the top seven, Taijuan Walker, on the eye-test, seems to have an unfavorable matchup with the Cubs, but, on paper, he’s posted16 strikeouts in his past two games. The Cubs have been hitting better, but they’ve also been striking out more since the All-Star break. Other boom-or-bust picks include Mike Foltynewicz and Charlie Morton.

For tonight’s 15-game slate, we have a bunch of really juicy matchups – on paper – that we’re excited to attack. Even though there is a lot of them, pitching is lacking quite a bit. That being said, we’d like to exploit the 1B and 3B positions.  It seems to be a theme lately, but it’s something well worth doing.
