This was confirmed by CD Projekt Red in a press release, where it said that Cyberpunk 2077 would come to Stadia by the end of the year. The press release was actually posted online last month, but it’s just now getting attention by fans. CD Projekt Red didn’t offer any reason as to why Cyberpunk 2077 won’t be available on Stadia at launch, and it also stopped short of providing a specific release date for the Stadia version.

But while CD Projekt Red hasn’t given a reason as to why fans will have to wait for the Stadia version of Cyberpunk 2077, it’s possible that it has something to do with the next-gen versions of the game. For the uninitiated, Cyberpunk 2077 is confirmed for Xbox Series X, and a PlayStation 5 version is virtually guaranteed as well. It’s possible that the next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 are taking more time to develop, and that may be the version of the game that is coming to Stadia. However, that’s just speculation at this time, and it’s possible that there is a completely different reason for why Cyberpunk 2077 won’t be on Stadia at launch.
Regardless, Google Stadia enthusiasts looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077 will no doubt be disappointed by this news. After all, Cyberpunk 2077 is set to be one of the biggest games of the year, even in the face of next-generation consoles launching this holiday season.
Maybe more information on why Cyberpunk 2077 won’t be available for Stadia at launch will come later this month. As part of the ongoing Summer Game Fest events, CD Projekt Red will be hosting a special Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire presentation on June 25, where it is expected to give fans their closest look at the game yet ahead of its September release.
Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on September 17 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with Stadia and Xbox Series X versions coming later in 2020.
